This session will explore how intentional relationship-building strategies create stronger student engagement, improve behavior, and increase academic success. Participants will also examine the reciprocal benefits for educators, including improved classroom climate, reduced burnout, and more meaningful, productive interactions with students.
This session introduces teachers to a Collaborative Problem Solving approach- through case scenarios and peer discussion, participants will practice co-creating solutions with other team members to reduce disruptions and build stronger classroom relationships.
Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how sensory processing affects behavior, attention, and learning. Learn how to identify common sensory needs, distinguish between sensory-seeking and sensory-avoidant behaviors, and implement practical, movement-based strategies to support regulation in inclusive classrooms. You’ll leave with easy-to-use tools, real-life examples, and a deeper appreciation for how sensory-aware teaching creates calm, focused, and successful learners.
This two-part series (August and January PD Days 2026) will cover Character Strong’s evidence-backed classroom model designed to empower staff with practical, easy-to-implement strategies that will create more academic engagement and improved attendance.
Note: This session will be 3 hours in August and another 3 hours in January. Please plan to attend both for the full training!
